ABOUT THE VISIONARY

Swami Dayananda Saraswati
is highly regarded as an outstanding scholar and teacher in the line of traditional teachers of Vedanta. He has taught in India for the past thirtyfive years and since 1976, he has lectured extensively in the West. Since 1968, Swami Dayananda has served as an executive administrator, director and trustee of several religious, educational and cultural organisations.

Gifted with sensitivity to cultural diversity, Swami Dayananda understands the current social, domestic and psychological issues and helps people address these pragmatically and fundamentally. His tireless and skillful unfoldment of the scriptural texts has touched the lives of thousands of seekers around the world.

One of Swamiji’s unique contributions to humanity has been designing and teaching three year resident Vedanta and Sanskrit courses. There have been six such resident courses, four in India and two in the United States. Each course had about sixty graduates who are now qualified teachers. Two centers of Vedic learning have been established in India: Swami Dayananda Ashram at Rishikesh and Arsha Vidya Gurukulam at Coimbatore; and one centre in the United States of America, Arsha Vidya Gurukulam at Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania.
